Space Derby

When Grandpa comes to visit we like to put him to work! He and Easton had a great weekend putting together Easton's rocket for the Space Derby. Pocket Knife cutting is only for Grandpas to do when you only have 1 armResting between coats of paint.
I had to post this to prove that Grandpa and Emmy really do like each other...deep down....Easton and Grandpa with the finished product. Thanks Gramps!Easton getting ready to race his rocket, "Stars and Stripes". Unfortunately mom wound the propeller the wrong direction and the first race it didn't go anywhere. :(Grandpa Mike to the rescue! Thank goodness! You'd think Grandpa had raised 6 boys with how great he was a rocket racing!

My Indian Brave

The 4th Grade put on a production of The Legend of Mt. Timpanogos. The kids did a great job! They made all of their costumes and designed the set themselves. It was very entertaining! (I'm a sucker for school plays)

Lagoon

The kids and I decided to go to Lagoon on Saturday. We had 3 "Bounce Back" tickets from our rainy weather day a couple of weeks ago so all I had to purchase was a "Kinder" ticket for Jace. (thank you Monica for the 3rd ticket!)
We couldn't have picked a better day! The weather was beautiful! There were long lines but it wasn't too miserable because we weren't melting in line.
We had a great day! My 3 kiddos
We started Jace out on 2 pretty scary rides...so he was a little gun shy for a while. Here is Cams and East waiting in line for the Centennial Screamer. Jace rode this one later and LOVED it.Here are the big kids being great sports and being squished into a mini space ship with their brother!
How lucky can you get!? Camry ran into her BFF Katrina. We rode some rides together and they shared some Tylenol with us when Easton's arm started hurting. Jace and I treated ourselves to a big huge snow cone while we waited for the big kids to ride Wicked. I gotta admit I wasn't too sad that Jace didn't want to ride this one! SCARY!

It Was Bound To Happen!

Anybody remember this post?
Here's the story:
(While I was at Costco) Easton and his buddy Davy pushed the skateboard ramp up against the fence (yes the skateboard ramp was involved). They were running up the ramp and jumping on the top of the ramp and over the fence into the backyard. CRAZY! (remember I was at Costco)! On one of Easton's attempts his shoe got caught on the top of the fence and he went flying head/arm first into the ground. He ended up with a bloody nose, top teeth through the bottom lip, and a broken arm. He called me and told me he was bleeding and he couldn't move his arm. So I told him to go wake up his dad (who had worked all night the night before) and call me back. Bryan called me back a minute later and told me to come home because he was pretty sure his arm was broken. While we were in the ER Bryan and I decided we didn't think it was really broken because he was being so tough! When the x-rays came back they showed that he had broken 2 bones just below the growth plate! What a trooper!
Easton in the ER...thinking about the baseball season he is going to miss. Two days later...feeling better. Off to the pediatrician to get a hard cast on.
Prepping his arm
He wanted a green cast but they were all out, so he went with the blue. Good choice bud! Blue to match his beautiful blue eyes! All done. And here he is riding his ripstick about 4 hrs after the cast was put on...let's hope we don't have 2 broken arms!

Singin' in the Rain

Camry is in a group at school called "The Musical Express". She has to audition every year to be a member of this group and we were thrilled when she made it again!
Every year they compete in "Music in the Park" which is a competition held at a high school near Lagoon. After they compete it's off to Lagoon for some fun before the awards ceremony. Too bad there was a torrential downpour on the very day of the competition...but that didn't stop our fun!The Musical Express competing in their rags during "It's a hard knock life"

It Had to Happen Sooner or Later

We had a good laugh last night at the movie. First we tried to refill our illegal bag of popcorn. Negative. They no longer do this. Dang! They totally caught on to ours and every other smart and somewhat dishonest person in the world's trick of sneaking your old bag back in and refilling it for 50 cents.
Don't Judge!
We figure between the 2 of us we've saved at least $200.00! Should I feel bad about this...maybe.
Next as we're walking in to the theatre with our arms full of our extra large tubs of popcorn (that we had to pay $6.50 for) this guy says, "Whoa now that's some popcorn!"
Ha ha ha! Laura gave him the evil eye and quickly told him it was for our husbands
...which it totally wasn't....
Maybe this love of popcorn thing has gone too far.....
