It's never good to start off the day with an argument with my 8 yr old....While doing Jace's hair this morning I brought up the topic of the "Wax Museum" they are doing at school. I asked him if he had decided what he wanted to be. (they have to choose someone from history). I suggested John Wayne (thinking he could dress up as a cowboy and because Grandpa Mike is his #1 fan and has lots of paraphernalia). He DID NOT like my suggestion. He said he would be either Buzz Lightyear....or one of the 3 Amigos. Ha! We argued a bit about those two choices not being exactly what the Wax Museum was about and went on our way to school.
So when I walked in the door from school today Jace hands me this paper and says, "I'll just go straight to my room because I know I'm gonna be grounded." and off he went. Good thing he wasn't around when I read it...cause I couldn't have kept a straight face. 2nd Graders are the cutest! After a light scolding and a day without any fun his "behave your" is back up to par.
As for Mr. Wayne...the purchase of an awesome cowboy hat has ignited the fire to be John Wayne for the Wax Museum. We now have a cowboy strutting around our house 24/7.
