Is It the Swine Flu?

Q: What is worse than being up all night with a sick child?
A: Being up all night with a sick DOG!!

Do dogs get the stomach flu? or could it be...

~the entire roll of bubble tape she ate last week?
~the dirty sock she chewed a hole in?
~the baggie that she ate yesterday?
~the candy bar that she climbed up on top of Camry's desk to get?
~something in the neighbors cat food that didn't agree with her?
~the stuffing out of Jace's favorite bear?
or...
Maybe it's the Swine Flu?

Whatever it is I hope she gets over it soon! Not only is this a completely disgusting experience but it's also sad to see how bad she feels when she throws up all over the carpet. Poor baby!

Auntie Laura wins the prize although some of you had some great answers that are definitely worse than a sick child...or a sick dog!

Spring Break

This Spring Break we traded in our flip flops for our snow boots which was kind of a bummer...but a week off of school and work none the less.

On Friday we headed to Blanding for our traditional Easter Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa Halliday. Waking up to soggy/rainy/mud on Saturday morning was quite the disappointment! Camry's eyes welled up with big tears when I told her we weren't going on our picnic to Recapture Pockets. There was just no way the minivan was making it out there in the mud! So off to the North Chapel we went for Easter Picnic indoors
When did my sweet boy grow up? This year he was feeling a little "too cool" to participate in the egg hunt. Too bad his Mom forced him...he may have even had fun!
Look at Easton trying to hate the egg hunt! ha ha ha
The rule was that you could only gather 10 eggs to start with so that everyone for sure had at least 10. Jace was real careful about how many eggs he had!
Here is Jace with his 10 eggsCamry is so cute with the little kids. Sophie loves her to death! They had so much fun gathering eggs!Easter morning the Easter Bunny found us at Grandmas!
To top off our cold and dreary Spring Break the kids and I went to see Monsters vs Aliens in 3D. Great movie!

I think we all had a fun week...bad weather and all. Now we just have to wait for Summer to arrive!

Popcorn Horder

I had a "light bulb" moment tonight.
Everyone knows how much I love popcorn...well I had no idea that I actually had a problem until tonight! Yesterday afternoon I saw that our gigantic Costco box only had 1 bag of microwave popcorn left inside of it. Last night the kids watched a movie and asked if they could have popcorn, "Nope, not tonight" (selfish I know)
Tonight I went to grab that bag of popcorn. GONE! ...No Way...I seriously panicked! As I'm considering walking the block to Laura's house to borrow some (don't think that I haven't done this more than once) I remembered I had seen a bag in my end table drawer (for real). So I run upstairs....sure enough there is one in there! I was a little disappointed cause it was only a mini bag, but hey better than nothing. As I'm popping up my mini bag I started thinking, "there has got to be more popcorn in that pantry somewhere". So I went on a search. I found another mini bag in with the taco seasoning! Jackpot!
This is when I realized how funny the whole thing was! Oh my gosh I'm like an alcoholic stashing my booze around the house!
I'm going to get a grip...tomorrow...right after I get back from Costco!!

Yes Rochelle...I Cheated

Definition of Cheating: To decieve by trickery.

So who knew that 7 days without technology would be so hard!? It was obvious from the start that Camry wasn't going to be able to do it alone. When everyone else is watching tv, playing the wii, etc. it's just too hard to stay away. So my brilliant idea was to help her out. I was okay until the big freezing snowstorm hit! Honestly! I think I could have made it 2 weeks if my kids could have just gone outside to play. But on Thursday night as I'm making dinner and the boys and the 2 dogs (we were dog sitting Mulligan) were running around the table screaming like wild banshees I found myself screaming, "TURN ON THE Wii!!" Aaahhhh....the silence that ensued was totally worth it!
SO...to those of you who think less of me, just know that my sanity was hanging on the brink!
On Friday night I found myself home all alone. Finishing up work I decided to just hop on Facebook for a quick minute. No harm done right? Ya right! Who do I run into...JEREMY! Of all people! Crap! I'm so busted! He is going to tell Rochelle...who already has it out for me for being on Facebook in the first place! I believe his exact comment was, "I thought you were supposed to be taking a week off, you LOSER!" Ha ha! After I chat with a few friends I decided since I'd already broken all the rules I'd watch Grey's online...what a great show! I totally cried...and it was totally worth it!
so anyway
In my defense...it wasn't my homework assignment, I made it 5 days without cheating, and I only hurt myself...
I'm glad to be back in the technological world with no guilt!!

Going Back to the Basics

The 6th grade at our school is participating in the N.O.V.A. (Nurture, Opportunities, Values, Accountability) program (this program has taken the place of D.A.R.E.). Because I work with the 6th graders...and Camry is one. Our family is participating in 7 days of no technology. Thankfully cell phones are not included in this experiment (don't worry I asked, I mean, seriously!).
So think of us for 7 days going without all of the luxuries of TV, Blogging, Facebook, Wii, etc. I know a couple of little boys who are not too excited about this adventure!
See you in a week!
