Christmas Tree Sleepover

 DECEMBER 2010
We had so much fun at our Christmas Tree Sleepover! Even Grandma and Grandpa Halliday joined us...although they slept in beds upstairs. :)
Dinner, hot chocolate, popcorn, and a Christmas movie, then sleeping with our cousins...who also happen to be our best buddies...under the Christmas tree. Doesn't get any better than that!

Maddie was so cute! She was really excited!

Merry Christmas to all...and to all a good night!

Thanksgiving Day Hike

NOVEMBER 2010
The men took the kids on a hike after Thanksgiving dinner. Not sure where exactly they went....somewhere in the hills of Blanding. The kids had a great time!

Crazy Cousins

This is my FAVORITE picture of Nemi! hahaha

Sometimes I wonder....haha

Leaving Jace in the dust.

'Cause I am a Material Girl

Sewing. Can I just say...I LOVE it! In honor of mine and Jessica's October birthdays Melissa, Jess, and I hit Material Girls for a skirt sewing class. 3 hours of pure fun! Loved every second of it. Good company, cute fabric, and my Janome...nothing better.

Me and my Asian/Hawaiian/red flowery fabric
Jess and her blue/green checked number
Melissa went with good ole black and white

Now if I could just find a new space to have my sewing table other than Bryan's office I'd be set. His job seriously cuts into my sewing time!

Howdy Partner!

The 2nd grade at our school does a "Wax Museum" every year. It is truly amazing. These kids spend a great deal of time learning things about the person from history that they chose. They make a board, dress up as their person, and stand perfectly still until someone comes and 'pushes their button'.

After pushing Jace's button you would hear, "Howdy Partner! My name is John Wayne. I was born in Iowa. I was a movie star. I played a cowboy. I acted in movies with my sons. I was a football player but had to quit after injuring my knee while surfing. I have blue eyes. My real name is Marion Michael Morrison. People call me "The Duke". I won an academy award."

Very impressive for an 8 yr old if you ask me! Great job buddy! And special thanks to Grandpa Mike for loaning us all of his John Wayne goodies!

Jace's Baptism

Jace has the good fortune of being the youngest of 3 cousins all born within 6 months of each other. They are the best of friends. So, when McKay and Garet turned 8 and were baptized he definitely knew what he was missing! He has been so excited for his baptism day! He was baptized and confirmed by his Dad. Grandpa Mike and Uncle Ryan were the witnesses.
His new favorite story: He got to be baptized 2 times because the first time Dad didn't get his mohawk wet! :)

A Change of "Behave Your"

It's never good to start off the day with an argument with my 8 yr old....

While doing Jace's hair this morning I brought up the topic of the "Wax Museum" they are doing at school. I asked him if he had decided what he wanted to be. (they have to choose someone from history). I suggested John Wayne (thinking he could dress up as a cowboy and because Grandpa Mike is his #1 fan and has lots of paraphernalia). He DID NOT like my suggestion. He said he would be either Buzz Lightyear....or one of the 3 Amigos. Ha! We argued a bit about those two choices not being exactly what the Wax Museum was about and went on our way to school.

So when I walked in the door from school today Jace hands me this paper and says, "I'll just go straight to my room because I know I'm gonna be grounded." and off he went. Good thing he wasn't around when I read it...cause I couldn't have kept a straight face. 2nd Graders are the cutest! After a light scolding and a day without any fun his "behave your" is back up to par.

As for Mr. Wayne...the purchase of an awesome cowboy hat has ignited the fire to be John Wayne for the Wax Museum. We now have a cowboy strutting around our house 24/7.

Lehi Pioneer Football

Easton played 6th Grade Football for the Lehi Pioneers this year. It was so much fun to watch. I love football. There is nothing quite like a beautiful Fall day with the sounds of crunching football pads in the distance. LOVE IT. Not so sure East really loved it. He isn't much of a contact sports guy. He wanted to try it out though and I think he had a good time the whole season.
