The 'Awesomest' Name

One of the things I love about my kids school is that they are learning a second language. Even my little Kindergartner goes to Spanish. Their instructor, Senora Lambson is awesome! At the first of the year all of the kids are assigned a Spanish name, which they are known by in Spanish class for the rest of the year. Here is my conversation I had with Jace:

Me: Hey buddy, how was Spanish today?

Jace: Good

Me: Did you get your Spanish name?

Jace: Yep.

Me: What is it?

Jace: It's not the awesomest name...

Me: It's not?

Jace: No. It's just Juan.

Me: That's a cool name!

Jace: Yea, but not the awesomest.

Me: What's the awesomest name?

Jace: Mario!!!

Duh!! Of course Mario is the awesomest name! What was I thinking even having to ask! I'll have to speak to Senora Lambson...maybe Jace could be Luigi instead of Juan.....Gotta love those Super Mario Bros.

Birthday Mania!!!

Okay...bare with me here...I get a little carried away. Here is our 'Birthday Week' post. We had a great/but somewhat exhausting time. I think even the 'hard to please' birthday boy was pleased....

5 Yrs Old6 Yrs OldI can't believe that my baby is 6 years old today! Where has the time gone? It makes me sad to think that he is no longer a baby. He is in such a hurry to grow up and be like his big brother and sister, and I'm in no hurry at all!!

Jace has always been our little firecracker. He was born with a true Northern personality! We always laugh and say he is just like his Grandpa Northern...so long as he's not too hot, cold, hungry, or tired he is a perfectly nice boy to be around! (I blame this on my dad....but only because he passed those traits on to me...which I then passed on to Jace).

Jace was born with a love to draw. From the time he was a baby he would draw circles on EVERYTHING....from furniture, to walls, to himself, etc. He has since moved on from circles and can draw some awesome Pokemon!!

Jace is my buddy. When I went to Hawaii I let him sleep with my blanket while I was gone because I wasn't going to be able to take it with me and I knew he would be missing me like crazy. Since I've been back I've had to adjust my life to a new blanket....there was no way that Jace was giving up that purple and yellow blanket! It's a queen size and he drags it around with him all over the place!

He is loving Kindergarten! I am missing our alone time together....now that I'm at work and he's at school, but I love seeing him come out of his classroom every day with a huge grin on his face! He is learning to read...one more milestone, and I'm so proud of him!

Happy Birthday Little Buddy! We love you so much!

Now That I'm a Mommy....

1. I've become a germaphobe!
2. I say and do things my mother did and I'm proud of it.
3. I cry at those 'Johnson & Johnson' mother's day commercials.
4. I play a lot of games to lose and I've discovered that I'm not very good at playing Memory...even if I were to try to win!
5. I rarely wear white, and if I'm dumb enough to....I usually regret it.
6. I love Mercer Mayer....there is just something special about those Little Critters.
7. I ALWAYS buckle up.
8. I laugh at potty humor....(two boys will do that to you)
9. I spend at least 4 hours a week at Karate.
10. I would like to meet and shake the hand of the person who invented the Magic Eraser! Seriously!!!

Fashion Faux Pas?

Is it too early to wear your snow boots while riding your bike?? It is, after all, September....

Six Quirks Tag

1. If it is dark and I happen to be the last one to go upstairs....I quickly hit the light then run as fast as I can until I get to the top. In 33 yrs of life I've never had the boogie man actually catch me! Phew!

2. Before I go to bed and almost every night at least once during the night I check on each member of my family by placing my hand lightly on their backs to make sure they're still breathing...the other night I even included the dog in this event!

3. I have a really hard time sitting down at my house to watch a movie. The whole time I have to concentrate on not getting up and doing something because it makes Bryan crazy!

4. I'm a hair Nazi. I can't stand for my children to go out in public without their hair looking just right. I have been known to be almost done with Camry's hair and completely start over because of a small bump. (she loves this about me...ha!)

5. I HAVE to read before I fall asleep. Even if it's just one page....I absolutely can't go to sleep unless I read.

6. I chew ice. I know...I know....it's so bad for my teeth. I can't help it, it's just so refreshing!

Making a Fashion Statement

Yesterday when I got home from work I decided to lay down for a little resty. Jace was next to me and he had a page of smiley face stickers in his hand. I took my much needed rest, got up, and carried on with my day. I got the kids an after school snack, made dinner, chatted with my in-laws, went to cub scout pack meeting, attended a cake decorating class at the church, came home, Cami came over for a bit and chatted, and then I was off to bed. I got upstairs and ran my fingers through my hair and low and behold...what do I find? A big green smiley face sticker stuck to the side of my head! Seriously!? I am dying and laughing at the same time that NO ONE told me!? Maybe nobody noticed? Yeah right! Just in case anyone was wondering...the next time I try to make a fashion statement it won't be with a big green smiley face sticker stuck to the side of my head!
